HA, i was at a brewery in CO doing flights and found a brewery I didn't care for any of their stuff too much, rated them all about a 3. I got a message from the brewery wanting to discuss why i didn't like them. I was rather shocked that they were paying attention.
Why on earth do they need to vet assistants? Is Chip so high and mighty that he will not join UF unless they hire specific assistants? I mean I understand that he needs to have full control, but come on... if an assistant is not vetted and UF declines to hire a specific assistant, is he going to back out of the whole thing? Just sounds like an excuse made up by the rumor mill.
Chip Kelly is just dominating these negotiations. He wants full say over hires, and recruits. Doesn’t wanna speak to random gator fans or rich gator fans. Wants his coconuts massaged on odd numbered tuesdays and Thursdays at 10 am and even numbered tuesdays and Thursdays at 1015 am. Wants blank checks for assistants. Wants foley moved to the basement of the Reitz Union. Wants spurrier to throw rose petals at his feet when he enters the facility. Scottie Strictland is in such a weak position now he just says, ok, yep, yep, sure, whatever you want mr kelly. Hilarious.
And if thats the case, fine. But all the "sources" and "insiders" on GatorCountry and every other outlet (Twitter for example where ive been just as vocal about people needing to stop playing this game) need to stop lying to people. They may not view it as lying. But here's my thing as an extremely skeptical person about everything in life. If my "source inside the program" kept feeding me information that was clearly inaccurate, such as them constantly feeding you that Chip to Florida is done and its been done since Tuesday and yet no announcement has come, at what point do you stop trusting your source? I have my own people who I get texted stuff from, for example, and I sent Tilly proof of the NFL writer last night via PM but I'm not posting it because the NFL writer asked me not to share his name. But ANOTHER guy I know texted me last night something he was told from a "source", that USED to be trusted. But hes been so inaccurate lately that when I read what he was sent I sent back "I'm sorry man but I don't believe anything this guy says, hes hit on one thing the last year out of the 10 things he's sent." What point do guys like Trill or Bazza (sp?) do the same? Because we've been playing this sources game all week. Some people find it humorous I guess and thats fine. For me, this is a clown show of people just making up info for whatever reasons they have in their head and its not looking like all these empty promises and locks are going to mean a single thing by the end of today and Chip isn't going to get hired on a game day. So you can go ahead and "lock" it up that Chip wont become Floridas coach by tomorrow either. Thats my rant. People need to use their head and stop trusting their inaccurate sources.

This vetting of assistants means one of two things. Either they're vetting assistants whom Kelly has indicated he would like to talk to, or they're vetting assistants whom he has already talked to and who have agreed to join him at UF. If it's the former, if UF vetoes a prospective assistant I guess Kelly might say okay. If it's the latter, if UF says no to a committed assistant that could be a real problem, maybe a deal breaker. At which point, I suspect, UF would cave in and say okay. In any case, if Kelly has already talked to these assistants, it means he really wants the job.
My guess is it depends....probably not if UF says no to one of them. If it is multiple UF has issues with, that would be a different story.
They don't, this is just an unsubstantiated rumor that everyone is clinging to. To recap....Zero verifiable sources say he is coming.
