The second part of that tweet can only refer to one coach, obviously. The Old Ball Coach, who was indeed a legendary innovator in the game. Meanwhile, Chip Kelly is widely known for picking the brains of other offensive-minded coaches and seeking out their input. That being the case I doubt he would want guaranteed assurances that SOS won't try to give him any.

 

Can't ignore the boosters, but there needs to be a line drawn in the sand regarding how much time the coach spends eating, sleeping, and breathing football vs. socializing with the boosters. This was one of the reasons Spurrier left for the NFL. Now that Spurrier is relaxed and playing golf, he should be the one making the rounds with the boosters.

I'm not one of these major boosters, but I'd think they want to watch a winning product on the field rather than have a losing coach making the round to the local Gator clubs.
