Yea I can see the reason for optimism. I actually sent a question to one vegas site to see if they will tell me why they pulled florida from their betting. hoping to suck a favorable answer from them

I honestly don't think anyone, including Stricklin and Kelly, know exactly how and when things will happen. I suspect there are a very small handful of people who know the exact status right NOW first hand (Stricklin, Kelly, lawyers and a small circle of others) who are directly involved in negotiations. And things such as exactly when an announcement will be have yet to be determined. I doubt any "insider" is getting information directly from this group of people.

I suspect that the "insiders" are getting their information from "sources", who are probably personal assistants and people inside the athletics department who are in direct contact with those people in the negotiations but not the negotiations themselves.

I suspect the maybe 20 or so true "sources" are getting fragmented information second or third hand directly from the people inside the negotiations and then passing that along to the "insiders" and people we're hearing from. But that information is probably fragmented, depending on who they talk to and where things stand when they talk to them. It's all a fluid process and information changes during the process. So the information may vary.

To Tilly's point, there are some basic threads of consistency between the fragmented information coming from different sources. Those are things that I think are believable. It's the things you hear from an "insider" or someone posting stuff that isn't at all consistent that you have to question.

I'm right there with ya. A HC hire doesn't get any bigger than a CK to UF. This could be HUGE for UF. This is what we have been waiting for for almost a decade..... I'm not gonna bail on hope of it after one week!
Let the two sides take the time to get it right and understand each other - they do that, and CK not turning UF into a complete monster will one of the biggest busts in CFB history.
I'm sticking with it happening. I'm sticking with UF being more than back and CK ending up with a statue next to SOS and TT.

i can send a screen of the NFL writer who DMed me to a mod if they want, but he answered back to me.

"Florida is the leader in the clubhouse. Chip wants facilities and staff monetary guarantees."

Again, this is a beat writer that is respected enough to be a guy that is quote and retweeted a lot when he breaks news on something in the NFL or with college prospects.

So does anyone know if this is the all time biggest thread on GC or have there been longer game threads? Would like to know just so I can say I was there.:)

I'll be more happy if he creates a statue of a Heisman QB next to SS, TT and DW. That would surely mean we won a natty or got awfully close.

I'm with you. There is very little reasons to think he can't succeed here. What he did at Oregon, with UF talent? My God.

Here's the other thing. He runs the offense Saban struggles with. Saban hates zone read option. The real truth is this.

No team in the SEC can topple Bama and end this dynasty. Yes some can beat them. No one consistently. No one, but Florida. Florida is the second best job in the SEC. Florida, with a strong recruiter, can recruit with Bama. Florida is the one team that has stood toe to toe with Bama the last thirty years. When Florida has a spread coach, we have been to ten SEC title games. 10 of 17 years, we went to title games with a spread coach. Who'd we meet there almost every time? Bama. There's a reason. We are the only monster that can slay the beast.

LSU runs pro style. Georgia runs pro style. Auburn can't out recruit them but will occasionally win. Ole Miss was a thorn but not deep enough to win the division. You can't beat Saban at his game. Pro style does not beat Saban.

What does beat Saban? Florida. With a brilliant offensive coach. Meyer is 3-3 with Saban, correct? Dabo is `1-1. Hugh has a winning record over him I believe or are they tied not sure.

    Either way.

TL:DR Florida is the monster that slays the beast. Florida, with a spread coach, is the SEC's knight in shining armor. We can kill that freaking dragon.
