Weekend is here. If we don't hear something tomorrow, then we can say their sources have been off, as we have been told at MOST by the end of the week with the Chip announcement. Once Friday comes and goes, I think all bets are off and probably the talk goes back to Frost / Mullen / Norvell . Chip will probably remain in the conversation, but the longer this takes, the less likely it will be him, as there is nothing keeping them from signing / announcing earlier than the season end. In fact it would be malpractice not to, as it will have a major impact.
Haven't heard anything of the sort on my end. I plan to check back in first thing in the morning, last I heard we were 95% there, just waiting on those few kinks to be worked out. Have heard the big money for assistants thing, but not as a problem - as something that's in the contract. Usually the way these things work is the school goes TO the person or the person's team - generally won't see the candidate or their team in the town until it's done. Some of the snags end of last week were a booster or two against the Kelly hire - they were outnumbered. Haven't heard anything about Fuchs and admin as a whole being against it. This could be a late development, I'll see what I can find. To summarize, only thing I'm hearing is this thing is pretty much done.

Thats the thing I dont think people think about. There is little reason Chip shouldn't be hired tomorrow. The more this goes on, the more likely it's leaning away from Chip. He's not coaching. This was reported as a "done deal" on monday right? And yet it's looking like we legitimately might not have a hire by Saturday. I hope I'm wrong, but if this was Frost, it makes sense. HE's coaching another team. With Chip? Whats the hold up? For real?

My source tells me one of the sticking points is Kelly's agent ,Rick Peck, is playing hardball, something about a Tevo clause being added to the contract guaranteeing his client some form of digital video recording at all locations.
I respect you trying to give us as much information as possible. My question is, last weekend, you were all over the board reporting that Chip will be announced 48 hours at most, then that was extended to by end of week at most. I don't expect you to reveal your sources, but do you confront them or ask them with "why have the things you have reported not pan out yet?", what do they say? What changed? Something is clearly off.
I saw the same in a few places. If that's the case, Lupoi has to be paid $1M to even budge. So the big budget for assistants thing would make sense.
