Man if they have that Creature Comfort - Tropicallia on tap and you haven't had one..... Its a must and I'd be very very envious.
Why would UF's cost go up? Any money he gets from UF is offset from his San Fran buyout. He could actually hook us up really good by taking a lower salary and letting SF continue to pay him what he was making there less his UF contract amount.
The people who want Frost are the same people who want the Gators coach to be a saint The same people who brought you the likes of Zook, Muschamp, and Mac. These people ought not to be trusted, and flatly ignored. They have had their chance to screw up hire after hire. Time to leave no doubt, don't hire the student, hire the master. Chip Kelly is the most sure thing as a coach that college football will see in the next 10-15 years. Oh nooo Chip Kelly might leave us after winning a national title 4 years in, however will we recover. It won't be like that would mean a crazy turnaround of tremendous proportions to see that happen or anything. Lets just take if for granted, and pretned that the guy playing with superior talent in the AAC with another mans system is a lock for a generational dynasty, and wouldn't try his own hand in the NFL.
Fair point. But base salary is not where college coaches make all of their money. And do you really think ANY agent would not find a way to maximize their client, and their personal % of the deal, when Gator Nation is in a uproar over the possible hiring? I mean, come on man... this is going to be a "bend over Scott... take one for the Nation" type of negotiations...
True except Frost has a really good resume not propped up by the team and program like most of Saban's cast offs and Frost has been recruiting state of Florida for two years. The thing we don't know but hope UAA is finding out from Kelly is, how much does he really want to work? Is he burning to coach at UF or does he just want a position as HC for a few years... I have no idea but one thing is true, he does not need to do it for the money. Hope the UAA makes the right choice. Lets also hope that whomever is hired brings the right assistant coaches. Mac was not a shrewd employer. Assistants are everything, from recruiting on-field execution on both sides of the ball. Yes, we want an exciting offense but 24 pts per game with an outstanding defense and STs wins a lot of games.
Oh I agree. I am thinking 1 million base salary and when the SF money runs out and if he wins a NC or SEC title by then, we can afford to pay him 8-10 million a year.
