Memo to those bitching about this thread: Thirst for info, attracted me to this thread. The entertainment value, is what's kept me coming back. This is great shit. No matter what the result of the coaching hire is, whatever regrets I will harbor about this thread, will be restricted to the time diverted from other tasks that couldn't be simultaneously multi-tasked (e.g.--I cleared my afternoon schedule on Monday, and back loaded the week....), not my informed, grown up, voluntary decision to participate in this not-so-grown-up passing of time, as we await the announcement of our next coach. If anyone isn't having fun here, or appreciating the community aspect of sharing, and going through this together...then they miss the point. TBL: The thread isn't the *problem.* To the extent that it is a problem at all, the solution is a simple as not opening it. Just open the main forum portal (whatever it's called)--when someone is hired, there will obviously be a new thread. or 19...many of which will be merged. But I assure you, you won't miss it. (...and we probably won't miss you in this thread).
I have to admit that the overall "production" of this thread is one of the best I have been apart of for the last 10 years. Congrats to everyone for your contributions.
Scott definitely wants to get the full effect (or is it affect) out of this and does not want leakage to ruin the big moment. If he calls for a presser (have to alert the press in advance so they know to be there) any time in the next week and a half, everyone will know it's the Chipper beforehand. Maybe he wants to wait until UF has played it's last game next Sat, that way there's no overlap. I just hope he's already landed his trophy Marlin and is just waiting for what he considers the right time to show him off.
So, was a coach announced yet? Did I miss it? And were the first words out of Sir Stricksalot's mouth at the presser "Nanny, nanny, boo boo!"?
Interesting, Stricklin hasn't left town according to the article. Maybe he's got a body double or he sent Strickland to meet CK.
This has the potential to turn into a massive disaster...if we miss out on Kelly or Frost this will be such a bad look on the program. Just make it end already. None of us can stand watching this performance any longer.
