Update: Kelly buzz..."The Thread" Hall of Fame bound.

That was posted in this thread basically right after it was tweeted and it's the only reference to Kelly being on campus out there.

 

Those helmets they gave the players are pretty sweet though.

 

Cant wait until Erin is interviewing him after beating FSU by 50 and he yells this at FSU's fans.

From what I am reading on the interweb -- reputable sources -- Chip Kelly IS the new head coach for the Florida Gators.

But .. nothing is official until our AD says so.

I'm not criticizing you. I hope it didn't come off that way. I think the source is embellishing. They may not have met Chip in-person yet, but if they've drawn up a deal, you can bet his agent was involved in that process. In that case, saying they don't know if Kelly is interested is misleading. If his agent is negotiating with you and working with you on a contract, Kelly is interested. It just doesn't make sense.

As a lawyer, I have some understanding of the work and time that goes into these sorts of things. You don't do that until both sides are involved. Otherwise, you've just wasted the time of all your attorneys because a guy like Kelly isn't going to just accept the first offer/deal you throw at him.
