If only the ability to coach football was a factor in the hiring. I guess we've all been looking at this the wrong way.
Gotta say though..from will to mac to Kelly, albeit a very painful one, is a damn nice progression...FINALLY!
FYI...... He went 46-7 in four seasons as head coach at Oregon, winning 12 games each of his final three years, reaching the national championship game after the 2010 season and winning the Rose Bowl and Fiesta Bowl the following years. He posted a 33-3 record in the Pac-12 and put up video game numbers on offense with four different starting QBs over his two years as offensive coordinator and subsequent run as head coach. Over those six years, Kelly’s Oregon offenses never averaged less than 36.08 points per game and over his final three years the Ducks ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring in 2010 (47.0 PPG), No. 3 in 2011 (46.07) and No. 2 in 2012 (49.54) while averaging between 522 and 537 yards per game in those seasons. Florida is averaging just 334 yards and less than half of those scoring totals, ranking 115th out of 129 FBS teams at 20.6 points per game while continuing a seven-year stretch of offensive sludge since Meyer left town.
