I'm on my lunch break, anyone care to give a brief synopsis of where we're at so I don't have to read through 30 pages?
Kelly has been Hired. StrikeGold is headed to Bristol to make the announcement live on air. Rumor has it that CK will sign his contract there with a blood oath not to leave for the NFL in under 3 years. Or, maybe none of that is true.
Good point about Trask. In HS he never really got to shine because he was in a Spread system. It'll be interesting. I'll also be curious to see what Fields thinks of the hire too. IIRC he was taking a hard look at UF before committing to the Leg Humpers.
That would be a really bad look for us I think, after the loyalty Corral has shown through all of this.
Can people please stop with all the initials and acronyms around here? How difficult is it to type Chip Kelly? Or to some of you: CPPS w/ atIaAAH? HDIITT Chip Kelly?
He fits great into this offense. Corrall has the ability to run the zone read and I've seen him do it at a really high level. A lot times people will look at a QB running the zone read and think speed and running ability is all that matters. What's really important is your ball handling ability, your ability to ride pull/give the run fake. It's an underrated attribute, and one Corrall is very natural at. He is also surprisingly slippery in the open space, teams will have to honor his legs. Corrall IMO is more advanced than Mariota was at this time in his development. A big part of Kelly's scheme that you saw more of in the NFL than college is the triangle read. Where the QB is tasked with reading multiple defenders to find the correct place to go with the ball. Think a zone read concept but 10 yards downfield off a throw. I think Matt with his ability to sling it, will bring out all the fun RPOs and triangle reads chip has in his playbank. I expect a familiar sight will be Corrall faking a quick screen to a stack formation and letting a 50 yard rope fly to a streaking WR, his ball fakes/footwork to take a deep shot is generational.
Really? I don't think I'd see it that way. Corral would still have a place and a shot at the starting QB position, but he will have to COMPETE for it. All any university should offer any athlete is an opportunity (Word up, Will Grier!?).
