To the trivia whiz kids here, when was the last time UF had a football coach announced in November? Sincere question.
Actually no they weren't. We first started really discussing it as a "done deal" on Friday, and it was spoke about nationally on Saturday. The media basically new the day before. Florida kids know Scott Frost? Certainly not from his college days 20 years ago or,his attempt at and nfl career. As for his current job at ucf, most won’t know him either. At least not the actual blue chip recruits. High school coach : “hey, Scott Frost is here to see you” High school star : “who?” Coach: “he coaches UCF” Player : “where is that?” Coach: “Orlando- university of central florid” Player: “they have. D-1 football team? Didn’t know that. They play in SEC?” Coach: no Player: Acc? Big ten? Coach’s: no and no. AAC. Player? Never heard of it. Tell him busy. I would love to see Frost as our coach so being sarcastic here to make a point - Frost isn’t going to be more known by great high school talent than Chip Kelly.
Guys, the HS coaches know who Kelly is and they play a huge role. The kids who matter would be very aware.
