Sounds like he views that as the easy path and believes in himself enough to take the challenging path. You can call it stupid if you'd like, but it doesn't make you right. One could call him going to UF as the lazy way. Wouldn't make them right either.
Yes Dammit!!! I am holding him to it!!! I would hope that if we hire Kelly we simply have him agree to a $15 million buyout or something similar to prove that he has long term interest in Florida. I like him as a coach, would be excited... but I don't want to worry every... single... year... that he is going to go to the NFL at the first chance. Then we are right back here...
I remember when hurricane Francis the only two places that were open were the "new" Sheraton hotel on 34th and CJ's.... the only thing you they had that you can order their oysters buffalo chicken sandwiches sodas and beer!..... best freaking hurricane ever!
Sounds to me like he wants to go home. Nothing wrong with that. It’s his home state and school. That’s a strong pull.
That is correct. And his Kelly tweet is about three days late. But I was called out for stating all of that.
Recruiting MONSTER. (Zook) Staff full of recruiting monsters. (Zook) Runs the type of offense we want. (Not Zook) Has turned 2 abysmal programs into winning programs. (Not Zook) Homegrown product. (Not Zook) WANTS to be our coach (Zook) This guy is 50% Zook. No thanks. /sarcasm
If true, that means all the national attention that has started being paid to him being our next coach might have spurred this thing along. I can see where when Yahoo, CBSsports and others start writing about it they would want to get it wrapped up and announced if they are indeed heading down that road. Guess we will see soon enough. GOD PLEASE MAKE IT SO as I think this is what Gator football needs to help it return to prominence. Don't get me wrong, I would love Frost or even Taggert as our next coach but both would come with some questions as to whether they could turn around a flailing UF program. I think Kelly would come with the question of not can he turn it around but how quick can he turn around the program. I do think he will need to hire a good D coordinator as well as have some great recruiters on staff.....especially considering his apparent dislike of recruiting.
I hope he brings in a great DC. As soon as the ink dries we can start a serious thread about which defensive coaches stay.
19’ Recruit I’m close with said he’s heard from Seider, Bell, & Randy that it’s Chip Kelly I asked did he know which coaches are being retained he said he had no clue. Just thought I’d pass this info along. Edit: 19’ Commit*
