I think Mac has shown that recruiting here is not easy. What we offer is a good sales pitch, but this is not a state where loyalty of high school players run deep, so coaches need to work it. That's an opportunity for a good recruiter, and a liability for a poor one.
This announcement better happen soon. This thread is gaining pages at a faster rate than Tennessee is losing recruits.
I doubt Stricklin reads message boards or twitter when it comes to the coaching hire.....HOWEVER at this point if he signs anyone but Chip Kelly or Frost, he might get run out of town. With all this excitement if Dan Mullen is picked as the coach the let down in gator nation will be massive.

Compared to you I’m a mere thumper here. No gripe with you personally. I understand your interest in the SPORT aspect of NFL. But it was the NFL that took itself out of the pure sports arena and made discussions about it more suitable for A.M. Radio. They did that to themselves. NFL leadership (and some players) made a choice between Sport and politics. It was they who chose themselves over us (and U.S.). To a lot of us (and U.S.) the league made its choice when it failed to stand up for America ... trading political correctness and concern about a little risk to their bottom line over the principles of our country - principles that were earned by a whole lotta people who "risked" far more over the last 250 years. Many of those Americans are still alive today (including me and my family members) and do not want to be reminded of this sad, contemporaty symbolic debacle by having the NFL brand shoved in their face everywhere they turn. We don’t wanna indulge them, don’t wanna patron them, don't wanna put money in their pockets by being part of keeping their brand active … on TV, Radio, pop culture, jerseys or even an online discussion forum. Not trying to imply that anybody who still enjoys the sport aspect of the NFL is un-American or doesn't care about our country. Hope you don't take it that way. Just wish the posts about it would be put to the Too Hot forum where the other political topics reside. Cuz, for a lot of us and U.S., discussions abotu the NFL are no longer in parity with the good stuff – like Gator Football, the Orange & Blue, the Flagship University, our next HBC and SwampGas. But, if Mullen came in and turned this thing around, he'd be praised for the hire. After Mullen nearly beat bama, I am coming around to the idea that he could be very successful here. Not saying thats what I want, but it may not be as bad as many think. He's been competitive(not world beaters) in the West(at Miss St. nonetheless).
