Seems to me having an offensive scheme that blows out lesser opponents is an advantage, in that you almost always beat the teams you are supposed to. Easier for the superior talent to outperform lesser talent. It was that way for Spurrier and mostly that way for Meyer. When you get equal talent lined up against each other that scheme advantage mostly disappears, but at least you are always in the running until that point.
Very true....I’m just saying for us to win titles, we will have to solve the best defenses..or at least have a good one of our own to compete with
his defenses at oregon were pretty good considering the talent they had, or lack of. had an annual problem of putting together a solid oline and moreso a good dline. just don't have many of those types of athlete in the pnw. just look at the natty game against cam and auburn and tell me what sec defenses did better. they probably would have won that game if oregon's defense didn't think the auburn rb was down.
oh man, this is why it’s not for everybody - put down the bong and go lay on the couch Wing. I can’t promise you our team won’t still suck after it wears off, but you should be seeing things more clearly, for whatever that’s worth
hard to judge kelly's offenses against elite defenses when he was at a talent disadvantage in the trenches. oregon finally put a decent oline together when they went on a run with helfrich. handled fsu's talented defense pretty well.
Can't get worse, I would think. I read that this year's team has the worst scoring defense at UF since 1946.
Yes, AU's defense came on very strong late in the season. They were very strong and did an amazing job against Oregon's offense.
I'll believe it when I see it. I imagine if we get Kelly now it means they think he's an overall better candidate than Frost, right? And he is I suppose. Maybe they don't want to wait until Dec 2 to ask Frost if he's interested, like really interested and risk losing Kelly to another school? I hope Kelly's the right guy as the article from another thread suggests he's not all that into the obligations that come with a HC job at UF.
If Chip Kelly is putting up 40 points a game and winning 10-12 games a year, a lot of his so called negatives go away like they did with Saban. Recruiting is easier and I doubt boosters will care much aboutr his low key personality.
