So now we know Frost is cheaper, more fit, younger and has more "fire". Haha...if history has shown us nothing else it's that those are the intangibles that make a successful college football coach
I gotta stay away from this thread. It's like the fridge at midnight. I know there's nothing in it, but I keep coming back, just in case.
Check the freezer. May be some Mint CHIP ice cream in there! (and I really have no info, as I don't even know where you live.) (Dang - a "Disagree" for a joke. People are sure touchy around here.)
Sounds like Kelly is the football version of Rick Majerus - coaching savant, no family, a little odd. Majerus, like Kelly, took a team that wasn't a traditional power to the championship game (and lost)
You can believe what you want. Regardless of what you choose to believe one has been out of the game for years and prior to that was a west coast coach(nttawwt) and one is successful currently in Florida and has been recruiting the state of Florida for two seasons. Neither is a sure thing.
To me, this is why Stricklin has to overpay. The alumni base would be irate if UF was the first job open and didn't land either of its top two choices.
If I was in charge and had made an exciting hire I wouldn't hold the press conference to announce Sunday midday.
I wonder how Michigan feels about their "splash hire" right now? Lots of money without a lot of return at this point. A cautionary tale?
It just reaffirms there are no sure things with coaching searches. Meyer and Saban are the closest you'll get to guaranteed success. The rest are a wait and see approach.
He didn't say terrible. He said traitor. That's propaganda. There is a place for that, a cesspool called too hot.
Great observation. The only win they looked dominating was against us. Oh, and Harbaugh was good in college and pretty good in the NFL.
I would love for Kelly to be our next coach. Him or Frost but Kelley has the much better resume. I expect several more threads on someone knowing who the next coach will be. It's happened the last two times and ended up being someone no one expected. Perhaps a few may have mentioned Mac. I just hate getting excited because I read a thread on a coach I would love to have, only to get my heart broken. However, under our new AD, I feel much better this go around.
I believe he would just hire some great recruiters. Also, recruiting for UF as to Oregon would be much less work and less effort. His name would sell a lot of it at Florida in itself.
I see people mistake Muschamp’s sideline hysteria for passion and fire. See Nick Saban folks. Surely there are others that display passion without looking unhinged.
