Frost scares me more than Kelly. Not sure he is a good fit with the fan base at UF. Ain't a crack at UF fans. It is just the level fanaticism in the SEC is different than elsewhere.
What a difference a year makes. Last Nov, Kelly claimed he wasn't interested in going back to college football. He must have heard how much FL pays coaches.
It just means to be in an extreme state (usually emotional) such that you are out of control, so you're not within yourself and controlling what you do, but you're beside yourself not in control.
How pissed would you be if the rumors/smoke is true about Kelly...just that it's Brian Kelly not Chip?
If we pay Kelly what he commands in the market($4+, $5+ ???) if he leaves and we hire a new coach less experienced or proven do we have to pay that level? I know, that's way down the road. Just curious though. The thing that will make our new coach successful regardless of offense is a strong defense and excellent STs. Our next HC needs to help focus on defense, needs to help recruit it "lights out". It will make his job so much easier.
Art I was kidding. It was a joke hence the people doing the laughing icon. Saying I would name the name of the coach AFTER the date Stricklin will likely already have someone named is nothing special as I said to make it even more obvious I was kidding. I never said I know now. I was just trying to lighten up this period where UF football is in limbo.
Frost is scary......good. Kelly is the one that worries me not being a good fit at UF. He's already loaded with cash, and would mail it in if things got bumpy. Frost would still be hungry to prove himself, and he's relates extremely well to the players.
Also my source is saying "GASH" while another source is saying "CUT". That's a lot of blood. There's no way that much blood can be wrong. Chip is a gator.
No kidding. I agree with you. But IF it turns out that he is our next HC we just have to hope for the best.
Its not happening. This would be a disaster hire for UF. If it is him, what the wait? He would bolt at the first sign of success or worse bring his unethical ways to the UAA. He is not a long-term solution.
Am i the only one that doesn’t want him? 1. Hasn’t coached a college team in 5 years 2. Doesn’t like recruiting (which i get, but i seldom start to like something as i get older,so what would change)? 3. Pulled a Pete Carroll at Oregon before hammer dropped. 4. Age. I want someone young with fire in their belly and something to prove. I want that “I’m a man, I’m 40” mentality. 5. Kelly inherited Bellotti’s kids. What has he built? Sustained, yes, but we are a dumpster fire. 6. Few if any ties to the south. Yes, he may be “Chip Kelly”, but he’ll need to cultivate relationships. See #2. It would be splashy, but is it right for us in the long run? I say no.
Thing is, there is no assurance for a 'long run' with any candidate out there. Pros and cons with everyone available, as they are all imperfect. We know Kelly can coach and design offense at the P5 level. Those are solid pros.
