To the obvious Gator/student/fan/whoever you think you are….you need to go back and look at the game film and tell me what the running back did to Spikes to make him want to gouge his eyes. If a lineman headbutted him or ripped his helmet off and Spikes wants to do something about it he can go pick on that person not the running back that is stuck under a pile of bodies and is doing what he supposed to be doing. I really don't know how this crap article got posted but whoever wrote it and whoever allowed it to be posted should be flogged, stoned, and down right beat for ignorance, and when thats all said and done I'd love to gouge out your eyes and see how you like it.

Our wins may not be attractive, but our kids have their eyes focused on the prize and refuse to take anything for granted - OR be intimidated by Darth Visor. Since Miss. State, these kids are motivated.

You would have to be an idiot not to want spikes leading your d-fence regardless of your team. He has all the passion and workmanship to be the best in the nation and in my opinion is one of the best. As they say he is the tim tebow of our d-fence and for good reason! He plays with the same passion, and in the heat of the battle with his kind of passion it can get to you. If you cant support one of the best gators EVER you should go root for FSU. And as far as some of the espn crew that have spoken negative about him i hope erin kicks them in the nutts! As far as why he decided to sit the whole game it wasn't for draft status at all, these people must not have not watched him for the last 4 years and seen the type of leader he is. His draft status was never gonna change he is a 1st round pick and for good reason. Ask any coach in NCAA football if they would love to have him and they would all give you the same answer. Swampy great entry keep it up!

Forgot to mention a radio station can call an athlete from most conferences like the ACC and have a live conversation with them. But the SEC that conversation has to be taped it can not be live. We are a quirky conference that's for sure.

Worst article ever. Don't bitch about football being a rough sports. Helmets come off, people get hit. Eye gouging is the act of a ****ing coward. Spikes should have had worse repercussions. After delivering such a low blow, he's lucky he only lost his helmet and received a bump on his head (at most). You keep it classy UF….cowards.

Please someone post, on Youtube, the Fox broadcast of the aftermath of the first Georgia offensive play (10:53 of the first quarter). It clearly shows (unlike the CBS tape, where a player was in the way) that Ealey jambed his hand under Spikes face mask deliberately (and in slow-motion, close-up at that). This is bad sportsmenship, and dangerous. No wonder Ealey doesn't think Spikes should be punished. He and his buddies were trying to take Spikes out of the game. I notified ESPN, but they want to make Spikes the villian.
