Predictions for 2009-10

Florida Basketball wins 20 Games

- Many are saying this team needs to get back to the NCAA tourney two years of NIT don’t get it since winning back to back NCs.  Hockypuck!

Got two words for that, Speights and Calathes.  The team was gutted after ‘06 with six stars moving on.  You get a center (Speights) to return for ‘08 Florida’s in the big dance, same this year with Calathes.

The older players on the team will give their all, they newer and new players on the team will give their all.  Finding out how to get some of these juniors to return if it’s in their best interest might help the cause too.

Florida Plays LSU for the SECC!

As much as Jevon Snead will progress his offensive line will regress.  With the talent in the defensive line at LSU it’s hard to imagine Ole Miss having their way with them.

Ole Miss loses three starters on the offensive line.  All-American LT Michael Oher is the big one there he protected Snead’s blind side.  The Rebs will be stout on the defensive line but the Tigers will be stout on each side of the ball.

Only one thing seems to be holding back Les Miles’ team and that looks to be consistent play at the quarterback position.  But don’t look for LSU to be giving up 50 pt games to Florida and Georgia nor 31 to the likes of Troy and Ole Miss.

Don’t see a serious challenger to LSU in the West, Alabama will be toothing a new QB, Auburn will be toothing a new head coach, Arkansas will just be toothing like hogs do.  Good luck for Miss State but Coach Mullen will need a talent infusion there, the last I saw there wasn’t enough at State to run a credible spread yet, give him time.

Florida’s greatest foe will be themselves.  They take a workman like approach and cut down one tree at a time they should be OK.  No one matches up with them this season in the East.

Florida will win a National Championship next fall in something other than Football

Don’t know what team will do it - Softball, Men’s Track, Volley Ball, Baseball, Soccer.

Just think it would be hard if someone said OK you can pick one sport to win it. That wouldn’t work for this man, really would love to see the Baseball team and softball team win one. But wouldn’t it be nice if Mary Wise finally had the break through season? Men’s track was so close.

Hope we get two NCs next year. Go Gators….
