We all know that the Gators have won 2 of the last 3 National Championships in football and 2 of the last 4 in basketball. Those were all great teams. Also, the football team returns almost all the players from last year and will be the #1 pick to win it again this year.
All that being said, those teams may not be the best in Gator history.
The Lady Gator softball team has been ranked #1 most of the season. This weekend, they swept the Univ. of South Carolina Gamecocks, holding them scoreless in all three games. Pitcher Stacy Nelson pitched her second no hitter of the year on Sunday.
They are now 49-3, having lost games by the scores of 1-0, 1-0 and 6-4. Since the last loss, they have won 15 in a row. The have won the last game 9 games by shutouts! They have clinched the SEC regular season championship. Just amazing.
Last year, the Lady Gators lost in the College World Series in the championship 
game. The won 70 games last year, an NCAA record that may never be topped since the NCAA changed the scheduling and reduced the total games played in a season.
To top it all off, Sophomore pitcher Stephanie Brombacher (left) is 39-0 in her Gator career. She has yet to lose a game!
