Gary Brown is bigtime.  Not often do you hear what a recruit feels about rankings.  Coach Braswell said his DT was proud of himself when he earned the 5-star ranking.

Gary Brown is packing! A 300 pounder with Great Speed! High School Coach Braswell said he doesn't play like a 300-pounder, he plays like he's 260, 265...

Coach Braswell (Gary Brown’s coach)

Coach Meyer, Coach Heater and Coach Loeffler were all here. The kids at the school were going crazy, they don’t see many celebrities. He’s solid he reconfirmed that with coach Meyer this weekend. There was some smoke this weekend but like a new girl it looks good at first but he’s come back to his senses now.

He’s 6-3, 6-3 ½, very explosive, quick D-tackle, a plugger, at the visit he weighed in at 300 but doesn’t play like that way he plays like he’s 260, 265, reminds me of a Marcus Thomas or ray McDonald.

He has first round talent you don’t find many of those. He’s driven he’s a hard worker he doesn’t have many character issues. I don’t think at the beginning he was actually looking. When he received all the attention he was looking around and saying you mean this is for me. The relationship with the coaches the players the atmosphere, the university.

He’s done with his visits he’s going to sign with Florida next week.

We were at a picnic he was a ninth grader and I was saying if you’re not an all American when you are a senior you’re cheating yourself. He wanted the 5-star and when he got it he was very proud of himself.

It’s hard for a 17 year old kid to tell the truth. Many of the kids live in a single parent home and have a hard time getting through this process. He was open he grew up a Florida fan most of his family went to Florida. I think the proximity played a good job for Florida State, the coaches came in and did a good job to try and sell Florida State but in the end it was just hard to replace Florida.

I think they’re pretty stacked at the defensive end position. They’re lacking in the defensive tackle depth wise. I think he has a good shot at making the two-deep. This isn’t a kid that they feel they have to develop physically. This coach thinks the early signing period would be good sort of like basketball so you don’t get into situations at the end where you get this hard push. Some kids get confused it becomes puzzling to them.
